Kristin Agar, LCSW, CIP, CAI, is a clinical interventionist, psychotherapist and consultant from Little Rock, Arkansas. She has worked in private practice for nearly three decades, and has provided intervention services, outpatient treatment, and case consultation locally and nationally. Trauma-Informed Responsive Intervention™ include planning and facilitating interventions, Respectful Therapeutic Transport Protocol™, and providing continuing care. Kristin is trained in both the invitational and rehearsed models, and tailors the intervention to the needs of each family. Rather than focusing solely on the patient, the emphasis is on healing for all of the family. She is a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP), a Certified LOVE FIRST Clinical Interventionist, and a Certified ARISE Interventionist(CAI). Her clinical services include individual, group and family therapy, specializing in alcohol, drug, and eating disorders, as well as illness, grief and loss. She is a member of the Trusted Provider Network (TPN) Network of Independent Interventionists(NII), the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), is a founding board member of the Eating Disorder Coalition of Arkansas (EDCA), and a member of the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association at the Little Rock Field Office.
She obtained her MSW in Clinical Social Work at the University of Arkansas. She then moved to Houston, Texas to pursue an oncology social work position on the Leukemia Service at MD Anderson Cancer Center. There, she provided individual, group and family therapy leukemia and bone marrow transplant patients and families. She also co-authored Living with Leukemia: A Guide for Patients and Families. She returned to Arkansas to serve as Director of Counseling Services at Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute. While at CARTI, she counseled patients and families, facilitated psycho-educational groups, and lead weekend retreats for patients and their families. She then joined the multidisciplinary team of the Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant Service at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and counseled children and teens with cancer and their families until she went into private practice.
Outside of work, Kristin is an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan who also enjoys spending time with family and friends, and rescuing senior dachshunds in need of a final, forever home.has
